Splinting Service

Is your child experiencing difficulty using their hands?
Are they having trouble with the positioning of their hands or upper limbs?
Are they having trouble with daily activities such as washing, dressing,
eating, drinking, hand writing, and climbing?

 

If left unresolved and depending on the severity, your child could
be at risk of developing a more serious upper limb deformity.

 

kidsFIRST Medical Center is now offering splinting service for children
experiencing difficulty using their hands to engage in everyday activities,
having trouble with the positioning of their hands/upper limbs,
or who may be at risk of developing an upper limb deformity.

 

The services offered for splinting include:

  • Upper Limb Assessment: strength, range of movement, dexterity, function
  • Splinting (upper and lower limbs)
  • Hand Strengthening and Rehabilitation
  • Joint Protection and Energy Conservation
  • Advice Regarding Aids, Appliances, and Compensatory Strategies
