AIRENE

Airene is a Registered Behavior Technician® with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, USA. She completed her ABA training in kidsFIRST Abu Dhabi under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Apart from being an ABA therapist, she is also a DHA registered nurse. She loves working with and being around children. Her experience in the nursing field includes working as a school nurse in one of Dubai’s early learning institutions.

With Airene’s experience in both the nursing and ABA fields, she aims to provide a happy and safe therapy-learning environment. She utilizes scientifically-based intervention in line with Applied Behavior Analysis principles. Her passion for children has pushed her to strengthen and widen her skills and knowledge, to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

DR. AHMED

Dr Syed Rais Ahmed has over 30 years of experience in pediatrics and neonatology. Dr Ahmed is a general pediatrician at kidsFIRST and familyFIRST Medical Centers, with special interests including pediatric rheumatology, pediatric hematology including bleeding disorders, pediatric asthma and growth and developmental problems.

He is a member of Royal College of Physicians (UK) and a Fellow of Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health (UK). Dr Ahmed worked as consultant pediatrician and Neonatologist for over 10 years in the UK before working as specialist pediatrician in City, American, and Medcare Hospitals in Dubai.

In addition to English, Dr. Ahmed speaks Urdu and Hindi, and possesses basic knowledge of Arabic.

DR. VANDANA

Dr. Vandana is an experienced specialist pediatrician with a global outlook and a holistic approach. She’s an expert in assessment, diagnosis and management of neurodevelopmental and behavioral conditions in children aged 0-18 years.

Dr. Vandana specializes in child development, neurorehabilitation, learning, behavior, psychosocial wellbeing, and nutrition. She collaborates with therapists, other pediatric specialists, nursery and school staff, especially when dealing with complex disabilities. She’s led and worked within multidisciplinary child development teams, and understands trauma informed medical care.

Clinical Training & Experience:

Pediatrics, child development and neurology at university hospitals in New Delhi, London, Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur. 20 plus years of pediatric experience, focused on developmental delay, ex-prem follow up, ASD, cerebral palsy, syndromic & genetic conditions, epilepsy, learning differences, ADHD, sensory issues etc.

Developmental Assessment & Therapy Training:

Griffith’s and Bayley’s Scales, DASII-2. Schedule of Growing Skills (SOGS) Specialized courses e.g., Prechtl, HANDLE, VBA, NDT, Hanen (observed), feeding evaluation & VFS, dyspraxia and dyscalculia assessments.
