SUPPORTING DUBAI SCHOOLS

kidsFIRST Medical Center proudly supports 80% of the Dubai schools that ranked Outstanding in Special Education Needs provision for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Results are in for special educational needs provision in Dubai, and it looks positive for families seeking inclusive support. Steady improvements are being made in mainstream inclusion across a wide spectrum of schools and curricula through policy initiatives of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

For the past two academic years, the Dubai School Inspection Bureau (DSIB) has evaluated and ranked Dubai private schools for their Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) provision. Of the 6 possible inspection results (Outstanding, Very Good, Good, Acceptable, Weak, and Very Weak), only 7% of inspected schools received the top mark for the 2015-2016 academic year. KHDA identified an additional 17 schools as Very Good in SEND, with around half of them providing support to their students through kidsFIRST.

The Dubai government continues to place strong emphasis on supporting all citizens, residents, and visitors, aiming to fulfill its goal of becoming fully inclusive by 2020.
